Like the regional trend, York is suffering from an inventory shortage. The buyers exceed the sellers, which is of course is good for sellers. Listings for homes in York in the lower-to-middle price range remain lighter than past years/months.

This represents a great time for home sellers to list their property because of the excitement new listings generate.

Sales of homes in York are up year over year considerably for the last few months of 2012 as well as January. As one may expect, inventory will grow in the spring as many sellers feel it's an appropriate time to list. Oddly some sellers think waiting is the prudent thing to do. They often say, "I'll wait a few months before I list it", which indirectly implies they will be waiting until the competition increases.

When searching for property anywhere, always research and "hire" a Realtor, who will represent you and your best interests according to the Realtor Code of Ethics. Hiring a Realtor as a buyer involves a buyer broker agreement which is a contract between buyer and Agent specifically for the time frame and locations agreed to by both parties. It really is a protection for both during the searching, negotiation, and transaction process! If you are looking for a Realtor in York Maine and honesty integrity and trust are important to you, be assured you can reach out to me.

Enjoy, Cindy
